INFO: Dating back to its origins in 14th-century Japan, Noh is a theatrical form that combines dance, chant, and music into a multifaceted live experience. Along with a rich literary legacy and a ritualised stage space, Noh practice evokes stillness and an intense, mysterious beauty.
Noh Training Project UK invites people of all backgrounds to explore the musicality, physicality, and vocal power of this 650-year-old tradition. Taught by members of Theatre Nohgaku, these standalone taster days provide an immersive introduction to Noh’s core disciplines: Chant (Utai), Movement (Shimai), and Percussion Patterns.
Whether you are a performer looking to expand your physical vocabulary or curious about Japanese classical arts, these sessions offer a hands-on encounter with the basic elements of Noh.
COST: £120 standard (£100 concession)
